New Ultrasound Scanner
Springwell Veterinary Surgery has purchased a new Ultrasound scanner which reflects the technological improvements that have happened in this area in recent times. The new scanner is capable of cardiac imagery at referral level. Due to it's superior processing power, it's frame rate allows excellent images of even a rapidly beating cat's heart. Enhanced with a real time doppler facility, we can visualise the location and severity of "jets" associated with heart murmers, in colour.
The system has four probes of different frequency bands. This allows us to optimise images in all animal sizes from small cat to large Newfoundland dog and different organ systems from heart base to prostate.
The aquisition of this scanner reflects our general philosophy of offering the highest specification of diagnostic equipment available, allowing us to most rapidly and effectively deal with the animals under our care.
